Celebrate with Seafood for Queen’s Birthday Weekend!

Sydney Fish Market is open every day of the June long weekend, giving you plenty of opportunities to stock up for a seafood feast fit for a Queen!

In honour of Queen Lizzie and her Monarchy we’ve collated some of our favourite British classics and royally named seafood species to help inspire your Queen’s Birthday meal ideas.

What better way to kick off the weekend than with a hearty brunch of Kedgeree.  Although traditionally a breakfast dish, this Anglo-Indian culinary mash up is just as delicious any time of day.

Enjoy a leisurely high tea featuring dainty Crab & Herb Finger Sandwiches and Salmon Scotch Eggs.

It doesn’t get much more British than fish and chips. You’ll find a few versions in our recipe archive, but for this list we couldn’t go past the apt named King George Whiting with Baked Chips. Be sure to serve it with a side of mushy peas!

These recipes may not be traditional British fare, but you can stick to the royal theme with Queenfish wrapped in Vine Leaves, Yellowtail Kingfish Fillets with Parsley Salad and Tahini Sauce or a King Prawn Cocktail!

Or take your pick from a host of other royally named seafood species - Royal Red Prawn, King Salmon, King Dory, King Threadfin or whatever ‘Prince Fillet’ of fish you fancy!

Dont want to lift a finger? You can also let our retailers do the hard work for you and have your fresh produce delivered…or an indulgent cooked seafood meal delivered! Click here for more details.

We’ll be open from 7.00 – 4.00 each day (individual hours may apply for some retailers), with free parking for two hours.
