Media & Communications Coordinator

About the company 
Sydney Fish Market, one of the country’s most visited tourist destinations, features various retailers, cafés and restaurants, a wholesale auction, and a working wharf. It is also home to the Sydney Seafood School. 
  
Sydney Fish Market is working exclusively with Curtis Partnership to find a Media & Communications Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis.
  
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills further while working in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment.

Duties & Responsibilities 
Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Written Communications: drafting corporate communications (annual & quarterly report, industry newsletters, media materials)
  • Media: responding to media enquiries, hosting media visits & facilitating interviews, and preparing media materials (spokesperson briefing notes, statements, media releases)
  • Social Media: scheduling and producing content for Sydney Fish Market and Sydney Seafood School (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Liaison: Liaising with internal stakeholders, external PR and creative agencies, and general public
     

Skills & Experience 
To be successful in this role you will have 2-5 years of experience in PR/ media/ communications and:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in food, tourism, or primary industries highly regarded
