The Sydney Fish Market strives to be accessible to all visitors and offers several features to assist those with mobility needs.
Step-Free Access: The main market areas generally offer step-free access via ramps and lifts.
Wheelchair Accessibility: The market is wheelchair accessible, allowing visitors with mobility aids to navigate the retail, dining areas and Sydney Seafood School. Wheelchairs are not permitted on the auction floor or in operational areas.
Accessible Parking: Designated mobility parking spots are located closest to lifts P1, P4, and P5. Mobility parking permit holders are entitled to 2 hours of free parking, after this period, standard parking rates apply. This concession is valid for 12 months, after which registration must be renewed.
- How to access your free parking? To receive your free parking entitlement, customers must visit the Point Parking office in person with a valid mobility permit and the vehicle registration (number plate). A representative may attend on behalf of the permit holder, provided they bring the permit and vehicle details.
- Where the Point Parking office? Basement level, under the escalators, across from the P1 lift.
Accessible Public Toilet: Sydney Fish Market features a Changing Places facility — a fully accessible bathroom with a hoist and height-adjustable change table for people with high support needs, in addition to multiple accessible toilets on site.
Assistance: Security staff are usually on hand to assist visitors with accessibility needs on-site. Please call customer service on 02 9004 1100 for assistance.
Accessibility at Sydney Seafood School
Sydney Seafood School is accessible, with space for wheelchairs in our auditorium and one adjustable bench. However, our classes involve working in a high risk environment with specialised equipment, and guests cook in groups of four, so we do need advance notice of any guest with accessibility requirements.
