Michael Huls
Mike is passionate about inspiring seafood consumers through education and storytelling. A former commercial fisherman in Australia, the United States and South America, he brings extensive species knowledge and practical insight to Sydney Fish Market and the broader seafood industry. A keen cook, he also shares expertise on preparing and cooking a wide range of seafood species.
Dan Maugeri
Dan is passionate about sharing heritage, culture, and food through storytelling and experience. Dan has worked across cultural exhibitions in Australia and internationally, bringing stories of place and tradition to life. Growing up around Sydney’s foreshore Dan fostered a strong connection to the water, while his Sicilian heritage and a grandfather who was a commercial fisherman shaped a deep appreciation for seafood and its cultural significance and preparation.
Sophie Campbell
Sophie has been a guide since 2018, working at cultural institutions such as Australian Museum, Taronga Zoo & Barangaroo Reserve. A proud First Nations woman, descending from ancient fishing people and healers from Wiradjuri, Dharawal & Darug Nations. Sophie is a natural storyteller, carrying the Totem of Bilawi (the casurina tree) she has the role of teacher, weaving her cultural knowledge into every tour, she translates the story of the land, sky and waters into modern day life.
