Updated COVID-Safe Measures at Sydney Fish Market
The health and safety of all visitors and staff here at Sydney Fish Market is our highest priority. We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and respond to all guidelines which are issued by the Australian Department of Health and the NSW Department of Health.
In line with other public spaces and facilities, we have implemented precautionary hygiene measures at Sydney Fish Market, including hand sanitisation points throughout the site and an increased cleaning regime of common touch points across our retail and operational areas.
Sydney Fish Market is also observing safe social distancing measures and asks all visitors to site to ensure they keep a minimum of 1.5 metres distance from each other at all times. Dedicated COVID Marshals are onsite throughout busy periods to ensure compliance.
Sydney Fish Market’s iconic boardwalk seating is open to customers.
A number of our arcade retailers are offering seated dining, which is regulated to ensure that 1.5m physical distancing recommendations are being adhered to, as advised by NSW Department of Health.

Auction Supplier and Buyer Update
NSW Health department have confirmed that as a crucial food market, Sydney Fish Market’s auction is exempt from COVID closures and can therefore continue to operate. We have thus been operating the auction with extensive COVID-safe social distancing measures in place.
