Jose Silva is one of Sydney's best known Portuguese chefs. With an impressive background in fine dining, Jose served as the Head Chef of Guillaume Brahimi’s award-winning Opera House restaurant Bennelong for 12 years, before taking over the famous Sweet Belem - specialising in Portuguese cakes and pastries (including the undisputed best custard tarts in Sydney!). Beyond that, he certainly knows his seafood: as owner and founder of a much-loved seafood restaurant and takeaway FICH in Petersham. Most recently, Jose and his wife have opened a modern Portuguese diner also in the heart of Petersham – named Lunas after their daughter.
