Community Update

The health and safety of all visitors and staff at Sydney Fish Market is our highest priority. We continue to closely monitor the situation and respond to all requirements in line with advice from NSW Health.

As of Monday 11 October, fully vaccinated individuals will be permitted to dine-in at Sydney Fish Market food service retailers (with one person allowed per 4 square metres).

The iconic Sydney Fish Market boardwalk will also re-open on Monday 11 October, with fully vaccinated individuals permitted to dine-in on the boardwalk (seating capacity will be restricted in accordance with square meterage rules).

Unvaccinated individuals will still be able to access the Sydney Fish Market site for takeaway and retail shopping only.

Yes. As an essential service, Sydney Fish Market is open from 7am-4pm every day of the week, regardless of lockdown restrictions.


What safety measures are in place at Sydney Fish Market?

  • COVID Marshals are stationed on site throughout lockdown to ensure compliance with these guidelines.

Other Information

In line with other public spaces and facilities, we have implemented precautionary hygiene measures at Sydney Fish Market, including hand sanitisation points throughout the site and an increased cleaning regime of common touch points across our retail and operational areas.

Sydney Fish Market is also observing safe social distancing measures and asks all visitors to site to ensure they keep a minimum of 1.5 metres distance from each other at all times. Dedicated COVID Marshals are onsite throughout busy periods to ensure compliance.
 


Auction Supplier and Buyer Update

As Sydney Fish Market is an essential service our wholesale auction is exempt from COVID closures and can therefore continue to operate. We have thus been operating the auction with extensive COVID-safe measures in place.
