There will come a time, years from now, when you will have to admit to a young person that at one point, you could buy live Mussels for $5 a kilo. “Surely,” they will exclaim, “Surely, at that price, everyone in Australia ate them every night?”. We will then have to be honest, and admit with deep regret that we did not. Which is crazy, because Mussels are delicious, available live, available everywhere, easy to prep, easy to cook, and suitable for every cuisine.
