Getting to Sydney Fish Market

Public transport is an effective way to get to the new Sydney Fish Market, with train, light rail and bus stops nearby.

If you are planning to drive, consider carpooling with your friends, family or colleagues. Parking is available at basement level and accessed via Bridge Road. For more information on parking, please see below. 

Catch the Sydney Light Rail from Central Station, The Star, Haymarket or Darling Harbour and hop off at any of these stops:

  • Wentworth Park stop (400m)
  • Glebe stop (450m)
  • Bank Street stop (700m).

Services run daily from Central to Dulwich Hill generally every 6-10 minutes on weekdays and, 10-15 minutes on weekends and in the evenings.

Sydney Fish Market is serviced by two key bus routes on Harris Street, 550m from our entrance:  

389: Bondi Junction to Pyrmont 

501: Parramatta to Central Pitt Street via Victoria Road and Pyrmont 

Other bus routes nearby include Glebe Point Road (750m or a 10 min walk): 

370: Glebe Point to Coogee 

431: Glebe Point to Martin Place 

433: Balmain Gladstone Park to Central Pitt Street 

469: Marketplace Leichardt via Glebe 

The closest stations to Sydney Fish Market are Central Station and Town Hall Station, which are approximately 2km away. 

Both stations are walkable, with good pedestrian infrastructure. Alternatively, you can change at Central Station to the L1 light rail service from Central Station to Wentworth Park.

Bike parking hoops are available on Bridge Road outside Sydney Fish Market, please bring your own lock to secure your bike or e-scooter. 

Walking to Sydney Fish Market couldn’t be easier, with great pedestrian links to light rail, metro and rail stations, as well as the scenic Glebe Foreshore Walk.

There is a dedicated taxi and ride share drop off and pick up area outside Sydney Fish Market on Bridge Road.

Sydney Fish Market’s parking system uses number plate recognition technology.

To pay for your parking, head to one of the parking stations and enter your number plate and pay the parking fee. Then drive to the exit, where the system will recognise your parking payment and the boom gate will open automatically. Alternatively, you can pay for your parking at the exit gate.

Please note, our system is cashless. Payment must be made using card; cash is not accepted at any of the pay stations.

Flat Rate Parking

During exceptionally busy periods at Sydney Fish Market (such as special event days), we may be raise entry/exit boom gates and implement a flat rate parking fee, rather than utilising the ticketed parking system.

This enables a faster flow of traffic, reducing waiting times for the public. This system will be implemented at the discretion of operational staff at Sydney Fish Market.

There is a flat rate fee of $15 for entry after 5pm.

Mobility Parking
Mobility parking spots are located closest to the main Market entrance.

Mobility Parking Permit holders are entitled to 2 hours free parking. Please register details with our Customer Service team, via phone: 02 9004 1100 or email: service@sydneyfishmarket.com.au

Our Security team is also on hand to assist with permit holders on-site.
