Sydney Fish Market is excited to host the inaugural Taste of Seafood Festival Sydney, commencing with the beloved Blessing of the Fleet celebration, on Sunday 25th September from 9:30am-3pm.

Join us in celebrating one of oldest traditions amongst fishing communities in the world, blessing our local fishing fleet, wishing them safe travels and a prosperous year ahead.

The Blessing of the Fleet features a statue of the Madonna – the Santa Maria Di Porto Salvo (literally translated as St. Mary of Safe Ports or Safe Harbour) – which is taken on a colourful procession around the site accompanied by a marching band, before returning to the wharf for the blessing of the decorated local fishing fleet.

The festivities will then kick off with live entertainment, food and educational stalls, face painting, and seafood tastings.

We look forward to seeing you down at the Market!
