Michelle Lucia
Michelle grew up in a large French family, where food was a central part of her earliest memories. She discovered food as a career while working in catering, then studied Commercial Cookery and Food Studies at Northern Beaches TAFE. Michelle began working at Sydney Seafood School in 2002 as a class assistant, then, in 2006, moved into demonstrating. She also does a lot of work with food magazines, food commercials and behind-the-scenes on television cooking shows, including Ready Steady Cook, The Black Olive and Fresh.
Julie Ray
For as long as she can remember Julie has had a passion for food; so it’s not surprising that in 1999 she decided on a career change, topped the class in her Commercial Cookery and Food Studies course and came to Sydney Seafood School for work experience as a class assistant. Upon completing her course, she also began recipe writing, food preparing and styling for magazines and cookbooks. Having relocated to Byron Bay, where she teaches cooking classes, writes for Australian Good Taste magazine, and works as a freelance food stylist for magazines and advertising, she now returns to Sydney regularly to teach classes at Sydney Seafood School.
Coralie Riordan
Coralie brings more than 20 years food industry experience to Sydney Seafood School. Her varied background includes teaching Home Economics in high schools, working as Assistant Food Editor at Family Circle Magazine, marketing David Jones Outside Catering Division and teaching Food Studies at TAFE. Coralie’s experiences living in South East Asia and extensive overseas travel continue to add excitement and fresh ideas to her teaching.
Brigid Treloar
Brigid has been a freelance food consultant for over 20 years. The author of eight cookbooks, she also regularly reviews restaurants and judges cookery and recipe competitions. She has made many TV appearances, given radio interviews and presented specialist classes in Sydney and interstate. Brigid advises many of Australia's top food companies on product and recipe development, food styling and photography, and provides recipes and cooking information for company websites.
